Last Friday, the board of Mattar decided to start a second Farm project in Ma’aratsien. People have now returned from the camps in northern Syria, but the poverty is still heartbreaking.
Many are once again living in a tent next to their destroyed homes. There is work here: most men work in construction, but they earn far too little to feed their families. Some families eat only twice a day, and then only bread. Because of the war in Iran, the price of everything has risen enormously.
That is why this Farm project will mainly be a women’s project. Together with them, Taha will bring in three harvests on 2 hectares. Through that work, the women earn money.
